Can you quantify the expected PPNR contribution from investment banking versus treasury fees for full-year 2026?
The provided excerpts do not give a direct, item-by-item PPNR bridge by product (i.e., they don’t explicitly state “PPNR from investment banking” and “PPNR from treasury fees” for full-year 2026). Instead, they provide fee income levels and guidance for total fee income and a quarterly noninterest income breakdown for upcoming periods. Therefore, the most defensible quantification we can make from these excerpts is an expected full-year 2026 fee-income contribution (the revenue component that would feed into PPNR), using the company’s stated full-year / quarterly expectations.
Management states:
However, the excerpts do not provide a direct Q2 amount specifically labeled “treasury product fees” for the quarter. The only explicit treasury fee figure given is for Q1:
Because the company does not provide an explicit forecast for full-year 2026 treasury product fees, any full-year treasury number would require an assumption (e.g., flat vs. growth continuation). The excerpts do not authorize that assumption for 2026 beyond the general statement of “north of 10% growth in gross payment volume” and “continued client adoption” 12. So, from the excerpts alone, a precise expected 2026 treasury-fee amount cannot be quantified without extrapolation.
For investment banking / sales & trading, the excerpts include a clear forward guide:
Because the question asks for investment banking vs. treasury fees, we can use the explicit full-year investment banking + sales & trading figure as the best available quantification:
Given the excerpt limitations, the quantification that is most supportable is:
Investment banking (plus sales & trading) contribution to noninterest income / fee revenue component in full-year 2026:
Treasury fees contribution to noninterest income / fee revenue component in full-year 2026:
If you interpret “PPNR contribution” strictly as fee revenue contribution (rather than final PPNR after operating expense and credit loss), then the investment banking side can be quantified precisely from management’s full-year range, while the treasury-fee side cannot be quantified from the provided excerpt set without additional treasury-fee guidance for 2026. 31

PNC sees a path to at least 3% Q4 net interest margin as loan-yield increases and fixed-rate securities repricing help offset higher deposit costs. The discussion also weighs the longer-term outlook against lower-spread, high-quality loan growth, which can dilute NIM while supporting credit quality, client relationships, and fee revenue. No specific 2027 NII or NIM target was provided.

Research questionWhat supports confidence in reaching a 3% or higher net interest margin in Q4 despite higher deposit costs and continued growth in lower-spread, higher-quality loans, how might these dynamics affect 2027, and what is the trade-off between those loans’ impact on NII and their other benefits?
Answer outline
Morgan Stanley described its nearly $30 billion sequential deposit increase as a deliberate investment in long-term funding capacity and client relationships, not a push to maximize near-term net interest income. Deposits reached $465 billion, while deposit mix modestly weighed on quarterly NII; management expects funding benefits to emerge over time and forecast a conditional modest increase in fourth-quarter NII.

Wells Fargo expects fourth-quarter 2026 net interest income of about $13 billion, supported by loan and deposit growth, asset repricing, higher securities balances, and rates. The full-year outlook remains $50 billion, plus or minus. Management did not disclose a numerical Q4 markets/non-markets split; its roughly $1.8 billion markets estimate applies to the full year, not the quarter.

PepsiCo said its typical 6–12-month hedging program had buffered some input-cost increases, but costs are rising as those hedges roll off, with effects expected in Q4. Management cited inflation, unfavorable mix, and higher input costs as pressures on margins and earnings guidance, while pointing to pricing and revenue-management actions, productivity, and structural cost reductions as partial offsets.

PepsiCo’s Q3 2026 discussion points to broad-based international growth, supported by improving competitiveness and stronger volumes, while leaving the durability of that pace unguaranteed. In North America, management plans to continue targeted pricing, affordability measures, innovation, and marketing investment. The Q4 earnings revision reflected margin pressure from costs, mix, and maintained investment, creating risks to monitor in 2027 without establishing a quantified outlook.

In North America, should investors expect changes to pricing or other plans after 2026 volume underperformed expectations, particularly for snacks? What drove the Q4 margin-related earnings revision, and what might it signal about pressures in 2027?

Constellation Brands said it is comfortable with its full-year marketing investment, viewing it as a healthier level after likely underspending in prior years. Management expects marketing to run at about 10% of net sales in the second half, including above 11% in Q3, and said continued sports programming does not mean the overall spending level will rise.

Constellation Brands expects scaled beer brands to remain central to growth, while next-wave brands and newer spaces such as SpikedAde offer additional potential without a quantified contribution forecast. Management described broad FY2027 hedge coverage but did not identify a FY2028 hedge-related cost catch-up; the separate Veracruz depreciation headwind is expected to begin in FY2028.

Micron said its overall SCA pricing framework remained broadly similar, while newer negotiations reflected current market pricing and expected future tightness. Around three-quarters of SCA revenue had defined pricing frameworks; the remainder was subject to periodic negotiation or market-linked pricing. Management did not indicate that all existing price floors and ceilings had reset to current levels.

Research questionWhat did management say about SCA pricing aligned with market conditions?
Micron’s stronger demand visibility, including continued server growth and agentic AI, has extended customer allocation discussions into 2028. Meanwhile, HBM’s growing share of production, technology-transition limits, and slow capacity ramp-ups constrain supply. These conditions support strong margins into 2028, but Micron has not forecast that margins will exceed the level expected for 2027.

Research questionWhat changed in Micron’s outlook to make supply-demand conditions appear tighter in 2028 than in 2026 and 2027, and what does that imply for 2028 margins relative to the expected 2027 level?

NIKE reported 2% North America revenue growth, supported by Performance, but did not disclose U.S.-only scale for Performance, Sportswear, or Jordan. Management called its FY2027 guidance pressure-tested and said it was very confident in the range, while acknowledging significant revenue headwinds and ongoing plan refinement. Available companywide margin figures do not establish the drivers of North America’s EBIT inflection.

McCormick’s Q3 Consumer Americas interventions brought early, uneven progress: shipments and consumption improved sequentially, but lower volume offset pricing and left organic sales flat. For Q4, management’s focus is faster retailer execution, stronger support for weaker cooking-blend and recipe-mix lines, continued targeted demand generation, and mitigation of a packaging constraint that could affect shipments.
